Ionospheric parameters
WebGlobal maps of the ionospheric density observed by DEMETER were obtained to study this parameter as a function of locations, seasons, local time, and magnetic activity. They showed that, in the case of low magnetic activity ( K p < 3) the ionospheric density has large-scale variations. Webslab thickness (t) are the parameters used to monitor the temporal and spatial behavior of the ionosphere. The ionospheric slab thickness (t) is defined (Davies, 1990) as the ratio of the ionospheric electron content (IEC) to the maximum ionospheric F2-layer electron density (NmF2), or in terms of the F2-layer critical frequency (foF2).
