This guideline applies to patients who present with suspected or confirmed life-threatening hemorrhage after trauma. WebTranexamic acid is also effective in management of postpartum hemorrhage following vaginal delivery. Tranexamic acid may also be useful in reducing gastrointestinal bleeding and mortality. Tranexamic acid may also be applied topically for reducing bleeding from surgical wounds [16]. Off-label uses of tranexamic acid are listed in Table 11.3.
